Medical University of Gdansk (MUG) established in the year 1945. The Medical University of Gdansk (MUG) is the biggest MBBS university in north Poland, situated in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with an old town and delightful sandy beaches. It recognized by WHO, MCI, and many more international professional groups. It is the first medical university in the country which ranks among the top ten best polish universities (8th place). It is one of those universities which is having an advanced system of education, and it trains students with the help of updated education technology of medical study. The university embraces the high-tech methods of practical medicine that empower students to be focused, competitive, and flexible in the world market.

The university is having various courses and their faculties as well which includes Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy with Sub-faculty of Laboratory Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences with Sub-faculty of Nursing and Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdansk and the Medical University of Gdansk. There are around one thousands of academic teachers with over one hundred of them are holding the professor position who carried out all the teaching activities. As per current basis, the university offers education in nearly all medical professions. Classes are also conducted in the English language for their students and this program is called English Division of the Faculty of Medicine.

The institute is providing the best infrastructure for its students and the quality facilities like good and spacious hostels, libraries, modern classrooms, etc. Moreover, the institute is providing a healthy and friendly environment on the campus for its students. The institute has various other activity centers in the campus like gym, separate sports complex, etc. The University believes in the overall development of every student and thus organizes various personality development programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences and Student Exchange programs. Apart from personality development programs, the University organizes various sports and cultural events and also encourages students to partake in these activities.

The MUG continually improves its clinical and teaching facilities. At the end of 2011, the University Clinical Centre has been successfully modernized. Our main hospital – the Invasive Medicine Centre (IMC) is one of the most modern hospitals in Europe. The new investment of the MUG – Non-Invasive Medicine Centre (NIMC) together with the IMC is one of the largest and most up to date hospital complexes in Poland. On six floors (including underground) are located such clinics as Obstetrics, Neonatology, Gynaecology, Oncologic Gynaecology and Endocrinology, Transplantation, Nephrology, and Internal Diseases, Internal Diseases, as well as 1st and 2nd Cardiology Clinics.


The Medical University of Gdansk is offering a low-cost medicine program. The university is preparing doctors for near countries, and far abroad. The MUG teaches more than 6000 undergrad and postgraduate students at four faculties: Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology. The MUG offers Premedical Course, Medicine Doctor Program, Pharmacy Program, Nursing Program, which is educated completely in English. International students establish over 15% of the MUG’s students and represent more than half of all foreign students in Gdansk. Most of them are coming from Sweden, Norway, India, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Spain.

Abroad, the university has cooperated with more than 50 universities and scientific centers. Moreover, they also exchange students and teachers in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Program and it is also an active member of many European organizations and institutions. Also, it is a founding member of two more regional organizations which named as ScanBalt and the Baltic Sea Region University Network.
