Overview
Asian Medical Institute, Kyrgyz (AMIK) is a well-konwn private medical institution that functions under the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education & Science of Kyrgyzstan. It is named after S. Tentishev and hence also known as S. Tentishev Memorial Asian Medical Institute. AMIK was established in the year 2004 and is located in city of Kant (20 kms. from Bishkek i.e. capital of Kyrgyzstan).
Asian Institute is one of the most popular colleges among the medical aspirants and its degree is recognized by the National Medical Commission which gives a golden opportunity for Indian students to study MBBS in Kyrgyzstan. After completing their studies they can sit for a screening test and practice in India.
The main reasons of studying MBBS in Asian Medical Institute are its low fees, good ranking & close location to Bishkek (Capital of Kyrgyzstan).
Tentishev Asian Medical Institute is registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and listed in World Health Organization Directory (W.H.O), Avicenna Directory, and FAIMER. Such students holding medical qualifications are eligible for the screening tests in any country of the world and subsequent recognition of their degree. AMIK has received a certificate of accreditation from independent agencies such as “EdNet”, “AAOPO”. Institute has applied for international accreditation from IAAR in April 2021.
Asian Medical Institute ranks among the top 10 (According to online ranking portals) medical universities in Kyrgyzstan. Overall, it has 4,000+ students (Local Kyrgyz & foreigners) studying in various faculties from different countries and 250+ teachers (Including some Indian teachers) are engaged in training them. At present there are more than 750 Indian students studying MBBS in Asian Medical Institute in English medium. AMIK offers an Undergraduate level in medical and other related fields. The institute has a few exchange programs too with renowned universities of neighbouring CIS countries for the benefit of students.
S.Tentishev Asian Medical Institute bearing three Licenses in Higher Professional Education. The Higher Education Institution is meant for training qualified specialists in the medical sphere both for the Kyrgyz Republic and other countries of the world including Pakistan, India, Nepal, Nigeria, America, Turkey, Egypt, Somalia, Russia, and CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, etc.). Students are studying from 15 countries.
More than 8 batches have graduated and are currently working in their home countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, after clearing their respective licensing exams (NEB/NLE, MCI/NEXT, MDCN, USMLE, PLAB, etc.)
There are doctors & candidates of medical science participating in the training process. The combination of utilization of modern training programs, technical material base, new training technologies, and qualified teachers promotes the improvement of training quality. Students will be taught not only on a clinical basis in Kant but also in Bishkek, the capital city. Many republican medical institutions and scientific centers are the clinical bases of the Asian Medical Institute. Institute’s departments will be working out both the fundamental and applied research problems on medicine priority direction.
