  Tashkent Medical Academy, established way back in 1919, is a government medical institution that functions under the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science & Higher Education.  In 1990, two medical institutes viz. Tashkent and Tashkent Medical Institute were established.  Later in 2005, both these old Institutes were abolished and Tashkent Medical Academy was established.  TMA is located in Tashkent, the largest city as well as the capital & economic hub of Uzbekistan.

COURSE DETAILS

MBBS

  Tashkent Medical Academy's MBBS program is based on the production of highly trained professionals on 58 chairs through the acquisition of clinical skills. Under a grant on the environment and human health, the institute implemented the "On coordination and monitoring of research works." There are seven separate scientific councils within the institute.

Duration

  The Duration of MBBS in TMA, Uzbekistan is 6 years which includes 5 years of theoretical and clinical rotations and 1 year of mandatory internship. During the 5 years of the MBBS course, students are given a chance to learn through practical training and are encouraged to attend clinical rounds at the university’s affiliated hospitals to help them gain better experience in the medical field to become excellent doctors.

Medium of Instruction

 The medium of instruction in TMA for all Indian students is English.  All the classes, test, and exam are conducted in English by highly experienced teachers/professors/doctors for foreign students. All medical books by Indian writers are also available in university library and are often referred during classes. These help the students to be prepare for their FMGE/NEXT in India too during their course of medical education.

Sessions

  There are 2 Academic Sessions for MBBS in Tashkent Medical Academy in a year i.e February and September sessions. Eligible students can apply by submitting documents online or by visiting any of our offices.

Scholarships

  The government of Uzbekistan offers scholarships to international students from India for MBBS programs. Some medical universities in Uzbekistan also offer low-cost MBBS options.  The value of the scholarship is up to USD 5,000 (travel + living allowances). This scholarship can be taken at Institutions in developing countries. You may apply on Abel Visiting Scholar Program 2024 application form.

Special Classes for Indian Students

  The classes for Indian students in Tashkent Medical Academy comprise of just 12 to 15 foreign students. These small groups help students to learn and understand subjects in a better way.  Indian students begin their classes with a revision of science subjects and selected medical subjects (Anatomy & Histology) during 1st semester. Apart from this, local language (Uzbek) is also taught as a subject from the very beginning. This helps them to start interacting with local people for their daily activities outside university.

  During the first 2 years of MBBS course in TMA, more emphasis is given to theoretical subjects. Students attend all of their classes within university campus. From 3rd year onwards, they have to visit hospitals in city and interact with local patients. By this time, Indian students become fluent in local language & do not face any problems in understanding local patients. This makes it easier for them to report back to their teachers in English who then evaluate their performance. The time students spend in hospitals for clinical/practical class increases with every further year.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION PROCESS

Eligibility

  The MBBS eligibility in Tashkent Medical Academy strictly follows the rules set by NMC for Indian students to study abroad.  All seats are allotted on the basis of MBBS eligibility in TMA and seats availability at the time of application. The exact MBBS eligibility in TMAfor admission of Indian students is as below:

  • Students from general category must have 50% marks (PCB) in 12th/Inter/Equivalent, while reserved category students must have 40% marks in the same.
  • The student must have qualified NEET exam in current year or any of the previous 2 years i.e. NEET must be qualified in either 2024/2023/2022.
  • The student must have completed 17 years of age (By 31st December) in the year of application to comply with the MBBS eligibility in Asian Medical Institute.
  • No entrance test or TOEFL /IELTS is required.

Admission Process

  All eligible students from India and other countries can apply for MBBS admission in Tashkent Medical Academy through a simple step-by-step process as shown below:

  • Student submits scans of 10th, 12th Mark Sheets and NEET qualification (2024/2023/2022).
  • Tashkent Medical Academy issues admission letter on the basis of documents submitted.
  • Student submits the scans of valid passport for issuance of invitation letter from university.
  • Tashkent Medical Academy issues Invitation Letter for Study Visa & Student's Entry to Uzbekistan.
  • Student submits original Mark Sheets, Passport & few additional documents for Visa from Embassy.
  • We assist students in currency exchange for payment on arrival or online fees transfer from India.
  • We assist students in Ticket Booking and plan their departure in groups, so that they travel together.
  • Our Representatives will accompany the group of students from Delhi to Uzbekistan University Hostel.

TMA Hostel Facilities

  Foreign students can stay at Tashkent State Medical Institute with the following amenities. There are 5 student dormitories with a total capacity of 1700 students at the institute. Tashkent Medical Academy's hostels are managed by the TMA administration and the Directorate of the Dormitory following the academy's regulations. At the university hostel, students can avail themselves of multiple types of hostel facilities. A few hostel facilities of the Tashkent Medical Academy are listed below:

  • Located within the main campus & students attend their classes in university at a walking distance from hostels.
  • Students can choose 2/3/4 seater rooms which have study tables & chairs, beds, bed-sheets, wardrobe, lamps, etc.
  • Indian students (boys/girls) are provided accommodation on separate hostels/floors with complete separation.
  • They can also submit application to hostel administration, if they wish to the change their room or upgrade it.
  • The hostels offer a common area with a modern TV and Furniture, Computer Rooms, and a Library. Each hostel also has common facilities of Kitchens, Laundry, Sports Hall & Reading Hall within their premises on each floor.
  • All the hostels have CCTV surveillance system & fire alarm safety system installed for the safety of foreigners. A turnstile is erected at the hostel's entrance to prohibit strangers from entering the hostel and to safeguard the safety of the students. Student dorms are assigned, individual district guards.
  • The university campus is ragging-free for students, and it is a safe place for international students.
  • It is compulsory for Indian students to stay in university hostel during the first year of their MBBS course in Uzbekistan.
  • From 2nd year onwards, they can choose to rent a flat/apartment (If they wish to) or continue to stay in university hostel.
