Overview

Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health is a government university and functions under the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science & Education of Uzbekistan. In 1991, it began its operations as a "medical center" and a few years later it received the status of "Institute" and was finally renamed to Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health. It has become extremely popular among Indian students who wish to study MBBS in Uzbekistan. The main reasons of studying MBBS in Fergana Medical Institute are its low fees, modern campus, top ranking & a huge number of Indian students.

With over 90 years of educational history, Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health stands out as an exceptional medical college for pursuing a degree. GMIPH is associated with several medical institutions across Uzbekistan. Fergana Medical Institute ranks on 8th position (According to online ranking portals) among all medical universities in Uzbekistan. Thousands of students (Uzbeks & foreigners) study at the institute & approx. 150 teachers are engaged in training students across 19 departments. At present, there are more than 350 Indian students studying MBBS in Fergana Medical Institute in English medium. The institute provides education at undergraduate level in general medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, traditional medicine & biomedical engineering.

To bring the medical education of FMIPH to the next level, it has recently launched a new campus loaded with modern medical equipment and features. The campus was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Musaev Behzod Anvarovich (Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and Mr. Bozarov Zayrullo Xayitbaevich Hokim (Governor of Fergana city). This new campus will contribute to the mission of FMIPH to create a technologically rich future for medical aspirants.

MBBS

According to online ranking websites, Fergana Medical Institute is one of the best medical schools in Uzbekistan. At the institute, 1000s of students including Uzbeks and foreigners study, and 19 departments are served by about 147 teachers. More than 350 Indian students are currently enrolled in the English-medium MBBS program at Fergana Medical Institute.

The MBBS program at Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health students will have exposure to both theory and practice, and they will have the chance to learn from more seasoned or older doctors. The whole 5 year course is offered in the English language at a low cost.

An MBBS degree from Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health is valid in all countries, including India.

Duration

The total duration of MBBS course in Fergana Medical Institute is 5.5 years (5 years and 8 month exactly) for Indian students. It includes Internship/Clinical Rotation also, which is required for working as a Medical Practitioner in Uzbekistan as well as other countries. The entire duration of the MBBS program fully complies with the latest NMC norms which requires Indian students to pursue their MBBS course with duration 4.5 years (54 months) + 1 year Internship (12 months).

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction in FMIPH for all Indian students is English. All the Instructions, Lectures, Tests, and Exams are conducted in English by highly experienced Faculty (Teachers/Professors/Doctors) for foreign students. All medical books by Indian authors are available at the University Library and can be referred during classes. This will be of great help to the students to prepare for their FMGE/NExT exam in India too during the course of the medical program.

In addition, local language (Uzbek) is introduced as a subject right away. This enables students to begin interacting with locals for their regular activities away from school.

Sessions

At Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health, there are 2 Academic sessions for MBBS students each year, in January and September. Students who meet the requirements can apply online or by visiting any of our offices.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION PROCESS

Eligibility

The MBBS eligibility in Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health strictly follows the rules set by NMC for Indian students to study abroad. In FMIPH all seats are allotted on the basis of MBBS eligibility and seats availability at the time of application. The exact MBBS eligibility in FMIPH for admission of Indian students is as below:

Students from general category must have 50% marks (PCB) in 12th/Inter/Equivalent, while reserved category students must have 40% marks in the same.
The student must have qualified NEET exam in current year or any of the previous 2 years i.e. NEET must be qualified in either 2024/2023/2022.
The student must have completed 17 years of age (By 31st December) in the year of application to comply with the MBBS eligibility in Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health
No entrance test or TOEFL /IELTS is required.

Admission Process

All eligible students from India and other countries can apply for MBBS admission in Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health through a simple step-by-step process as shown below:

Student submits scans of 10th, 12th Mark Sheets and NEET qualification (2024/2023/2022).
Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health issues admission letter on the basis of documents submitted.
Student submits the scans of valid passport for issuance of invitation letter from university.
Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health issues Invitation Letter for Study Visa & Student's Entry to Uzbekistan.
Student submits original Mark Sheets, Passport & few additional documents for Visa from Embassy.
We assist students in currency exchange for payment on arrival or online fees transfer from India.
We assist students in Ticket Booking and plan their departure in groups, so that they travel together.
Our Representatives will accompany the group of students from Delhi to Uzbekistan University Hostel.
Our Representative will stay on and arrange for Police Registration which is mandatory and help acquire SIM cards for the students.
Our Representative will also help with all formalities of Medical checkup, Visa extension, etc. in Uzbekistan.

FMIPH Hostel Facilities

All the university buildings, as well as hostels of Fergana Medical Institute courses for students, are located within Fergana Medical Institute and nearby areas. Some of the highlights of the facilities at hostels in Fergana Medical institute are as below:

Located within the main campus & students attend their classes in university at a walking distance from hostels.
All the hostels have CCTV surveillance system & fire alarm safety system installed for the safety of foreigners.
Students can choose 2/3/4 sharing rooms which have study tables & chairs, beds, bed-sheets, wardrobe, lamps, etc.
All the essential modern amenities like a Pillow, Blanket, Bed sheets, Beds, Tables, and Chairs are already added to the basic necessity list and are provided by the university.
All rooms have internet access 24x7 for all the students.
For student recreation gyms, sports complex facilities are also available.
A common kitchen is also made available for students to cook their food.
They can also submit application to hostel administration, if they wish to the change their room or upgrade it.
Indian students (boys/girls) are provided accommodation on separate hostels/floors with complete separation.
The hostels have common facilities of Kitchens, Laundry, Sports Hall & Reading Hall within their premises on each floor.
It is compulsory for Indian students to stay in university hostel during the first year of their MBBS course in Fergana.
The Indian mess is compulsory for all students in 1st year & they can choose from vegetarian/non-vegetarian meals. The canteen and mess facility is available 24x7 for all the students.
From 2nd year onwards, they can choose to rent a flat/apartment (If they wish to) or continue to stay in university hostel. Indian mess facility is available in all hostels of Fergana Medical Institute where they can have breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Indian students have to travel out of campus from 3rd year, when they have to attend classes in various hospitals.
Indian restaurants facilities are also available in the city.
All Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid are also celebrated among Indian students with great enthusiasm every year in hostel.
Annual sports (Mostly Cricket) and cultural events are organized by Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health for Indian students.
