Overview
Osh State Medical University (Osh SU), one of the best and oldest medical universities of Kyrgyzstan for MBBS education, is a Premiere Government Medical University that functions under the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science & Education of Kyrgyzstan. Located in Osh, the capital of Osh region of Kyrgyzstan, Osh SU is listed as one of the Top Universities and is featured as a prominent Educational, Scientific and Cultural Research Center. It was established in 1939 and got the status of "University" in the year 1992.
The Osh SU is quite a popular choice among Indian students who wish to study MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, the main reason being its High Ranking, Low Fees, Vast Campus and a Huge Population of Indian students. The University offers a course in both English and Russian language.
Osh Medical State University is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly known as Medical Council of India (MCI), World Health Organization (WHO), International Medical Education Directory (IMED), US Education Department and General Council of Medicine of Great Britain.
Location
The University’s Urban Campus which has a beautiful landscaping is located in the South-Eastern part of the beautiful city. It is surrounded by serene mountains and the Ak-buura river passes through the campus. Other departments and faculties are located across the city in different places. Its proper address is Zholon Mamylov Street, Osh, Kyrgyzstan.
International Medical Faculty
The Foreign Students Department of Osh SMU has been training foreign students from more than 20 countries since 1993. In 2015 Foreign Students Department of the Medical Faculty was organized as International Medical Faculty. Currently, there are more than 1500 foreign students from countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Turkey, United States, United Kingdom, and others studying in the International Medical Faculty.
Holistic Approach
Osh SMU believes in the overall development of every MBBS student and hence organizes various Personality Development Programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences, and Student Exchange programs. The University also organizes various Sports and Cultural events and encourages medical students to partake in these activities.
