INTRODUCTION

Overview

  Osh State Medical University (Osh SU), one of the best and oldest medical universities of Kyrgyzstan for MBBS education,  is a Premiere Government Medical University that functions under the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science & Education of Kyrgyzstan.  Located in Osh, the capital of Osh region of Kyrgyzstan, Osh SU is listed as one of the Top Universities and is featured as a prominent Educational, Scientific and Cultural Research Center.  It was established in 1939 and got the status of "University" in the year 1992. 

  The Osh SU is quite a popular choice among Indian students who wish to study MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, the main reason being its High Ranking, Low Fees, Vast Campus and a Huge Population of Indian students.  The University offers a course in both English and Russian language.

  Osh Medical State University is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly known as Medical Council of India (MCI), World Health Organization (WHO), International Medical Education Directory (IMED), US Education Department and General Council of Medicine of Great Britain.

Location

  The University’s Urban Campus which has a beautiful landscaping is located in the South-Eastern part of the beautiful city. It is surrounded by serene mountains and the Ak-buura river passes through the campus.  Other departments and faculties are located across the city in different places.  Its proper address is Zholon Mamylov Street, Osh, Kyrgyzstan. 

International Medical Faculty

  The Foreign Students Department of Osh SMU has been training foreign students from more than 20 countries since 1993.  In 2015 Foreign Students Department of the Medical Faculty was organized as International Medical Faculty.  Currently, there are more than 1500 foreign students from countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Turkey, United States, United Kingdom, and others studying in the International Medical Faculty.

 Osh SMU believes in the overall development of every MBBS student and hence organizes various Personality Development Programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences, and Student Exchange programs.  The University also organizes various Sports and Cultural events and encourages medical students to partake in these activities.

COURSE DETAILS

Duration of Course

  The total duration of MBBS course in Osh State Medical University fully complies with the latest NMC rules which require 5 years + 1 year (Internship in Kyrgyzstan) for Indian students. It includes Internship/Clinical Rotation also, which is required for practicing Medicine in Kyrgyzstan or any other country.

Medium of Instruction

  The medium of instruction in Osh State Medical University for all Indian students is English. All the Classes, Tests & Exams are conducted in English by highly Experienced Teachers/Professors/Doctors for foreign students. All Medical books by Indian writers are also available In University Library and are often referred during classes. These help the students to be prepared for their FMGE/NEXT in India too during their course of medical education.

Sessions

  There are 2 Academic Sessions for MBBS in Osh State Medical University in a year i.e. February and September session.  Eligible Students apply by submitting documents online or by visiting our offices.

Special classes for Indian Students

  The strength for Indian students in Osh SU comprise of small strength of 12-15 foreign students in a class. These small groups help students to be attentive and supportive in learning and understanding subjects in a better way.  The course for Indian students begins with a revision of Science subjects and a few selected Medical subjects (Anatomy & Histology) during their 1st semester. Apart from this, the local language Kyrgyz is also taught as a subject from the very beginning, helping them to start interacting with locals for their daily needs/activities outside the university.

   During the first 2 years of MBBS course in Osh SU, more emphasis is given to theoretical subjects. Students attend all of their classes within university campus. From 3rd year onwards, they have to visit hospitals in city and interact with local patients. By this time, Indian students become fluent in local language & do not face any problems in understanding local patients. This makes it easier for them to report back to their teachers in English who then evaluate their performance. With the passing of each year, the students spend increasingly more time in hospitals for clinical/practical classes.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION PROCESS

The eligibility for MBBS in Osh State Medical University for Indian students is:

   Minimum 50% marks in 12th/Inter with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) from any recognized board.

   NEET qualification (2024/2023/2022) & min.

Admission Process

  Indian Students can apply for MBBS admission in Osh State Medical University through a simple step-by-step process as shown below:

  • Student submits scans of 10th, 12th Mark Sheets and NEET qualification (2024/2023/2022).
  • Osh State Medical University issues admission letter on the basis of documents submitted.
  • Student submits the scans of valid passport for issuance of invitation letter from university.
  • Osh State Medical University issues Invitation Letter for Study Visa & Student's Entry to Kyrgyzstan.
  • Student submits original Mark Sheets, Passport & few additional documents for Visa from Embassy.
  • We assist students in currency exchange for payment on arrival or online fees transfer from India.
  • We assist students in Ticket Booking and plan their departure in groups, so that they travel together.
  • Our Representatives will accompany the group of students from Delhi to Tashkent by flight and from there across the border to the University Hostel in Osh by Road.
  • Our Representative will stay on and arrange for Police Registration which is mandatory and help acquire SIM cards for the students.
  • Our Representative will also help with all formalities of Medical checkup, Visa extension, etc. in Kyrgyzstan.

  The beautifully designed spaces in the well-built campus Institute campus, with a healthy and friendly environment, provides the best of infrastructure as well as quality state-of-the-art facilities for its MBBS students, including:

  Spacious Classrooms, Lecture Theatres with A/V Technology, Laboratories, Museums, Dissection Halls, Fully-equipped Library, Computer Centre, Separate Hostels for Boys & Girls, Gymnasium, Sports complex with Indoor & Outdoor Facilities, High-speed Wired and Wireless Internet connection, Cafeteria, Conference facilities, Student Lounge, Flexible Learning Spaces and Health-Care Simulation Training Facility.

  The University has 21 Academic Buildings, 8 Student Hostels, 1 Hotel for Foreign Teachers, 15 Sports facilities which include Football artificial turf, two Football natural turfs, and a Tennis Court.  Moreover, the university also has 13 points of Public Catering for its students.

  Three independent Testing Centers and the Center for Distance Technologies were opened by the University. These three Centers control the Basic knowledge of students, Conduct Trial Testing, Validate Residual Knowledge, and Organized Final Testing in all the Disciplines.

Hostel Facilities

  The Hostels for Indian students in Osh State Medical University are situated both in the campus as well as outside the campus in nearby areas.   Some of the important facts about the Hostel are:

  • Located within the main campus, the Hostels are at a 5-10 minutes walking distance from the classrooms in Campus.
  • New Hostels have also been built by the university recently to accommodate the increasing number of Indian students.
  • The hostels are available in single, double, and triple sharing occupies in rooms. Students can choose one of them based on their needs, requirement, budget, and availability.
  • All the rooms are well-furnished and centrally air-conditioned with all the necessary amenities like a Bed, Bed Sheets, Mattress, Study Table, etc. Moreover, there is a common Study Room in every hostel.
  • Indian students (Boys/Girls) are safely provided accommodation on separate Hostels/Floors.
  • Indian students have to travel out of campus from 3rd year onwards, as they are required to attend classes in various hospitals in the city of Osh.
  • All the Hostels have CCTV surveillance system & Fire alarm safety system installed for the safety of foreigners.
  • Should students wish to change/upgrade their room, they may do so by formally submitting an application to Hostel Administration.
  • The Hostels have common facilities like Kitchens, Laundry, Sports Hall, Reading Hall, Common Washroom and Toilet within their premises on each floor. Kitchens are equipped with 2-3 electric burners, and a microwave, where students can cook their meals whenever they want to do.
  • It is compulsory for Indian students to stay in University Hostel during the first year of their MBBS course in Osh.
  • Indian Cuisine Mess facility is available in all Hostels of Osh State University where they can have Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
  • Indian Mess is compulsory for all students in 1st year & they can choose from Vegetarian/Non-Vegetarian meals.
  • From the 2nd year onwards, the students can either opt to rent a Flat/Apartment or continue to stay In University Hostel.
  • All Indian festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid are also celebrated among Indian students with enthusiasm every year in Hostel.
  • Annual Sports (Mostly Cricket) tournaments and Cultural Events are organized by Osh State University for Indian students.
