MBBS

  KSMU offers a general medicine program which is designed to meet the General Medical Council’s expectations. The curriculum offers a six-year program and the graduates will receive a Degree in General Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, Physician in General Medicine which is equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Duration

  The duration of MBBS from Kursk State Medical University is 6 years which includes one year internship. The initial five years cover most of the theories and practical concepts in the form of classroom learning. The Kursk State Medical University also allows students to learn practical applications by allowing them to work during the whole span of MBBS.

Medium of Instruction

  Kursk State Medical University was the first university in Russia that began MBBS course in English for international students.

  There are 2 sessions for MBBS in Kursk State Medical University in a year i.e February and September sessions.

Scholarship

  Kursk State Medical University (KSMU) in Russia offers scholarships to both domestic and international students based on academic merit. The scholarships cover a portion of the tuition fee and are awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. KSMU also gives grants to a predetermined percentage of students from economically less advantaged groups.

Special Classes for Indian Students

  The classes for Indian students in Kursk State Medical University comprise of 12-15 foreign students. These small groups perhaps help students to learn and understand subjects in a better way. Indian students begin their classes with a revision of science subjects and selected medical subjects (Anatomy & Histology) during 1st semester. Apart from this, foreigners also learn local language (Russian) from the very beginning of course. This helps them to start interacting with local people for their daily activities outside university.

  During the first 2 years of MBBS course in Kursk State Medical University more emphasis is given to theoretical subjects. Students attend all of their classes within university campus. From 3rd year onwards, they have to visit hospitals in city and interact with local patients. By this time, Indian students become fluent in local language & do not face any problems in understanding local patients. This makes it easier for them to report back to their teachers/doctors in English who evaluate their performance. The time students spend in hospitals for clinical/practical Classes increases with every passing year.

Eligibility

  The MBBS eligibility in Kursk State Medical University follows the NMC guidelines for admission of Indian students and is as mentioned below:

• Students from general category must have 50% marks (PCB) in 12th/Inter/Equivalent, while reserved category candidates must have 40% marks in the same.
• The student must have qualified NEET exam in current year or any of the previous 2 years i.e. NEET must be qualified in either in 2024/2023/2022.
• The student must be of complete full 17 years (By 31st December) in the year of application to comply with the MBBS eligibility in Kursk State Medical University.

Admission Procedure

  Students can apply for MBBS admission in Kursk State Medical University through a simple step-by-step process as shown below:

• Student submits scans of 10th, 12th Mark Sheets and NEET qualification (2024/2023/2022).

• Passport size photograph. Photo should be 80% face with white background, and no shoulder.
• Getting Admission Letter takes 4-5 working days.
• University will conduct Entrance Exam.
• After clearing the Entrance Exam, the university will send the Contract Letter.
• After that Invitation Letter will be on that time you have to pay at least 1st semester tuition fees directly to the university account.
• University issues admission letter confirming MBBS admission in Kursk State Medical University.
• Student submits the scans of valid Passport for issuance of Invitation Letter from University.
• KSMU issues Invitation Letter for Study Visa formalities in India & student's entry to Russia.
• HIV Report (at the time of Visa).
• Apply for Visa (Russia Embassy takes minimum 10 days for visa processing).
• Student submits original Mark sheets, Passport & few additional documents for Visa from embassy.
• We assist them in currency exchange for payment on arrival or online fees transfer from India.
• We assist them in ticket booking and plan their departure in groups, so that they travel together.
• Our representative meets the students at airport and briefs about their trip from Delhi to Russia.
• Our Representatives receive the group at airport in Kursk and provides them transport to Hostel.
• All formalities of medical checkup, visa extension, etc. are completed by our representative in Russia.

 KuSMU Hostel Facilities

  Kursk State Medical University Hostel, organized by order of Ministry of Health, has 6 buildings that provide a healthy and vibrant environment, out of which 3 hostels are available exclusively to international students.  The hostels for Indian students in Kursk State Medical University are situated in the campus & nearby areas. A brief overview of the facilities at hostels is as below:

• Located within the main campus & students attend their classes in university at a walking distance from hostels.
• The Hostel complex covers an area of 33,229.6 sq. m. in which 15,415.6 sq. m. is living and the remaining is covered with parking, garden, etc.
• Indian students have to travel out of campus from 3rd year, when they have to attend classes in various hospitals.
• All the hostels are guarded by professional security and have CCTV surveillance system & fire alarm safety system installed for the safety of foreigners.
• The complete hostel complex is equipped with internet access.
• Students can choose 2/3/4 occupancy rooms which are spacious fully furnished with study tables & chairs, beds, bed-sheets, wardrobe, lamps, etc.
• They can also submit application to hostel administration, if they wish to the change their room or upgrade it.
• Indian students (Boys/Girls) are accommodated on different Hostels/Floors with complete separation.
